The GGI Global Education and Innovation team organised a variety of design workshops and focus group consultations in the preparatory phase of the new MA in Global Peace, Justice and Well-being, co-organized with Linnaeus University and in partnership with the Universities of Florence, Murcia, Nantes and Cologne in the framework of the European University for Well-being (EUniWell).

This uniquely interdisciplinary MA programme will not only combine the theoretical perspectives of peace studies, international law and human rights approaches to global justice and a variety of approaches to individual and societal well-being, but will also bring together networks and insights from the worlds of academia and policy-making. As co-coordinator of the programme, GGI will provide a unique think tank and policy perspective as well as innovative teaching approaches, also drawing on its insights as the secretariat of the European Network on Teaching Excellence (E-NOTE).

In March, GGI brought together senior representatives from EuniWell (including  the alliance’s Chief Operating Officer Professor Beatrix Busse) with young graduates to explore both academic content and labour market elements. In April, GGI held a design workshop with academic and administrative colleagues across the alliance to advance a first draft of the curriculum. In May, as part of the Global Peace, Democratic Governance and Well-being summer school, the co-coordinators also collected insights and preferences from more than 20 undergraduate and graduate students across Europe and beyond related to the new MA programme.

The new MA programme is scheduled to be launched in Autumn 2025 and is currently in the final planning and refinement phase.
