Tennyson is a Non-Resident Fellow in the Ukraine Programme. Before joining GGI, he was a policy officer at the Australian Department of Defence and a 2023 Fellow at EuropaNova’s Young Security Conference. He has been based in Ukraine variously since 2020, where he contributes to international media on Russia’s war. His work has featured in well-read publications like the Atlantic Council’s Ukraine Forum and The Lowy Institute’s Interpreter.
Tennyson’s research interests include foreign and security policy, hybrid warfare and the future of Ukraine-NATO-Transatlantic relations, with a focus on shared lessons for resilience and planning guidance. He holds an LL.M. in international law with distinction from the UNSW Sydney and a BComm from the University of Sydney, where he studied business and international relations. He has also studied at the Australian War College and the University of Vienna.
