April 2025

On Wednesday, 30 April , 2025, Montclair State University’s Research on Interdisciplinary Global Studies (RIGS) will host an online roundtable exploring the evolving intersection of artificial intelligence and governance.

The event, which will take place at 10:00 AM EDT / 16:00 CEST, will focus on two key dimensions: the global regulation of AI, and how AI is increasingly being used as a tool in governance itself.

GGI’s Head of Programme Medlir Mema and Deputy Head Christopher Lamont will contribute to the discussion by examining key challenges and policy strategies for managing AI’s global impact. Drawing on their work in foresight analysis, policy advising, and public engagement—including the Age of AI podcast—they will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping global governance and how it can be effectively leveraged to improve decision-making and institutional effectiveness.

The roundtable will be moderated by Dr. Arnaud Kurze, Associate Professor of Justice Studies at Montclair State University and Director of Project AROS Lab.
